Acorda’s “Many Faces of OFF” Facebook page received two Stevie Awards, recognizing the valuable dialogue that the site is fostering in the Parkinson’s community.

The Stevie Awards are among the world’s premier business awards. They were created in 2002 to recognize the achievements and positive contributions of organizations and working professionals worldwide.

Acorda received multiple Hermes Creative Awards for our work on “The Many Faces of OFF,” a Facebook page we established for the Parkinson’s community. The Hermes Creative Awards is administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communications Professionals.

Acorda won the 2015 ICX Association Excellence Award in the category Best Corporate Communications Deployment: Digital Signage for SynapseTV. SynapseTV was created to share information, communicate about internal events and recognize individual and company achievements via digital displays at our offices in Ardsley and Chelsea. The ICX Association Industry Excellence Awards honors the best self-service, digital signage and mobile technology deployments across all vertical market segments.

Our Marketing team’s innovative and forward-thinking patient advocacy and disease-state awareness efforts have been recognized by PM360, a leading pharma/biotech marketing publication. Crystal Friend, Associate Director, and Jonathan Kuhn, Senior Director, Global & Brand Marketing, were named 2014 Trailblazer Brand Champions. Crystal was honored for her work in Central Nervous System marketing, specifically the Epilepsy-Disease State Awareness Initiative. Jonathan was honored for his work in Pain/Inflammation. The Trailblazer Award recognizes outstanding achievement in healthcare marketing.

Our efforts were recently recognized at the 2014 AVA Digital Awards, where our company website, Acorda.com, and DreamsTheEBook.com both received Gold awards. Our interactive mobile app MS Self™ received a Platinum award and our patient-management website, designed to help patients with MS actively manage their disease, MoveOverMS.org received an Honorable Mention. The AVA Digital Awards is an international competition that recognizes excellence in digital communication.

Acorda is committed to creating new and innovative ways to communicate and we recognize the importance of providing patients with cutting-edge resources they need beyond medication to help improve their healthcare and lives. The 2014 AIVA Communicator Awards have recognized our communication channels, MoveOverMS.org, Acorda.com and our MS Self™ mobile app, with Silver Awards. The AIVA Communicator Awards, judged and sanctioned by the Academy of Interactive & Visual Arts, recognize outstanding ideas in marketing and communications.

Acorda’s Communications team received a Silver Stevie Award for Communications Department of the Year. Communications works closely with departments across the company to provide information about our products and company to patients, caregivers, healthcare professionals and investors. Speaking on the award, Jeff Macdonald, Senior Director of Corporate Communications, says “We have a fantastic team. Andrew Blight, Ph.D., Chief Scientific Officer, was recognized by SmartCEO’s Executive Management Awards as one of the best C-suite executives in the Greater New York area. Honored for his leadership/mentoring style, Dr. Blight, who has been with Acorda for nearly 20 years, says, “I try to manage as I wish to be managed; as lightly as possible, while still vigorously questioning assumptions and traditions. I do not set out to inspire, but the right team attacking a worthwhile enterprise generates its own inspiration, if it is given the responsibility.” An independent committee of local business leaders reviews the Executive Management Awards nominations, and winners are chosen based on the quality of the nominations submitted.

The Ampyra (dalfampridine) professional website won a Silver Davey Award for Best Pharma Site, while the Ampyra (dalfampridine) consumer website won three Silver Davey Awards – Best Pharma Site, Best Design, and Best Content. The annual International Davey Awards honors the achievements of the “Creative Davids” who derive their strength from big ideas rather than stratospheric budgets. The Davey Award is geared towards smaller organizations and is all about intelligence, out-of-the-box thinking, and exceptional execution.

Acorda received the 2014 Small Business Success Award from the Business Council of Westchester. The Westchester County Business Hall of Fame Award is a lifetime achievement award presented to 5 esteemed Westchester County businesses/individuals in the categories of Small Business Success, Entrepeneurial Success, Family Business Success, Women in Business Success and Corporate Citizenship.

Acorda won a Pharma Choice award for Ampyra.com – a gold for the health care professional website. The award recognizes outstanding achievement and innovation in healthcare marketing and is unique in that PM360 readers act as the judges, voting online based on content, format, imagination, influence and the ability to stand out in the complex, ever-changing healthcare environment.

Acorda was recognized by the Rx Club Show, receiving the 2013 Award of Excellence for www.ampyra.com and also for ampyra.com’s Healthcare Professional site. The Rx Club honors the creative aspects of healthcare advertising and promotion. The show is judged in various categories by a panel of industry experts and is based solely on creativity. The Rx Club Show has grown to become an international icon in the healthcare industry.

For the fourth year in a row, Acorda was included in the Deloitte Technology Fast 500™, an annual ranking of the fastest growing technology, media, telecommunications, life sciences and clean technology companies in North America. Award winners were selected based on percentage fiscal year revenue growth over the previous five year period.

Acorda Therapeutics was included in the 2013 Crain’s New York Business Fast 50, an annual list comprised of the fastest-growing public and private companies in the New York area. Award winners are selected based on annual revenue growth.

The Web Marketing Association selected both the consumer and healthcare professional sections of Acorda’s product website, www.ampyra.com, as winners of the 2013 Pharmaceuticals Standard of Excellence Award. The Web Marketing Association’s WebAward program is the longest running annual website award competition.

Acorda received the 2013 Gold Stevie Award for Best Pharmaceutical Website for www.acorda.com. Judged by more than 200 executives nationwide, the Stevie Awards were created to honor and generate public recognition of the achievements and positive contributions of organizations and business people worldwide.

Acorda received the Silver MM&M Award in the category of best branded website for consumers. This year’s judging process included two comprehensive rounds of scoring by more than 100 independent judges who are seasoned industry professionals. The MM&M Awards recognize exceptional creativity and marketing effectiveness among all companies in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries.

Acorda received the PM360 Trailblazer Award for Company of the Year in the category of Best Specialty Pharma/Biotechnology Company. Acorda was recognized for its pursuit of excellence in three separate areas: marketing and advertising, talent development and social responsibility. The award is presented by the widely-read PM360 magazine, a resource for marketing decision-makers in the pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical device industries.

Denise Duca, Senior Vice President, Human Resources, was named one of the most inspiring people in the life sciences industry in the 2013 PharmaVOICE 100 annual edition. The individuals recognized in the PharmaVOICE 100 are industry leaders who impact the life sciences though their passion for the healthcare sectors they serve, and inspire and motivate others within their organizations as well as their community.

Anthony Caggiano, M.D., PhD., Vice President, Research & Development, was named one by Pharmaceutical Executive as an “Emerging Pharma Leaders of 2013.” These individuals are recognized as figures in the life sciences industry who act as trendsetters in their constant striving to adopt new approaches to their work.

Acorda was selected to the Barron’s 400 Index, made up of the top 6% of all publicly traded companies in North America. The Index gathers 400 of the strongest and most promising stocks in North America, out of more than 6,000, on the basis of MarketGrader’s rigorous analysis of fundamental soundness, growth characteristics, excellent profitability and overall attractiveness to investors.

In selecting the Best Legal Departments 2013, Corporate Counsel evaluated a wide range of legal departments across the country and across all industries, including Fortune 500 companies, small start-ups, and not-for-profits. Acorda’s legal team was one of only four chosen for the honor.

The DTC National Advertising Awards are a unique award opportunity in a field with multiple constituencies, varying needs and significant communication challenges. Entries are judged by a panel of independent industry market research experts and the DTC Perspectives editorial team. The DTC Advertising Awards honor excellence in best practices, knowledge and insight for pharma marketers who are creating and implementing best-in-class direct-to-consumer communications.

The Nielsen Norman Group is an American consulting and research firm specializing in user experience, focusing on how to make user interfaces that are easy, pleasant and efficient to use. Nielsen holds an annual intranet design challenge, with companies from across the world submitting their intranet systems. Acorda was one of ten winners of the 2013 award.

Now in its 15th year, the WebAward program is the premier annual website award competition that names the best Web sites in 96 industries while setting the standard of excellence for all website development.

For the second year in a row, Acorda was included in the Deloitte Technology Fast 500™, an annual ranking of the fastest growing technology, media, telecommunications, life sciences and clean technology companies in North America. Award winners were selected based on percentage fiscal year revenue growth over the previous five year period.

The “Southern California Challenge Walk MS Documentary,” sponsored by Acorda and produced in partnership with StudioPMG, received the 2011 Accolade Award of Merit in the webisode category. The documentary follows Team OptiMiStic, a group of seven women, five of whom have multiple sclerosis (MS), as they share their experiences with MS over a 50-mile, three day MS Challenge Walk held by the National MS Society. The documentary can be viewed at the I Walk Because website. The Accolade recognizes producers, established and emerging, who demonstrate exceptional achievement in craft and creativity.

Acorda won two awards in conjunction with the 32nd Annual Telly Awards. A Bronze Telly award was received for its “Southern California Challenge Walk MS” documentary and another Bronze Telly was received in the public relations category for its “Employee Profiles” videos that appear on the Company’s corporate website www.acorda.com. The Telly Awards honor the very best local, regional, and cable television commercials and programs, as well as the finest video and film productions, and work created for the Web.

Acorda was a multiple award winner at the 2011 9th Annual American Business Awards (ABA). Acorda CEO Ron Cohen received a Stevie Award as Executive of the Year in the Health Products & Services category, and the Company’s website, www.acorda.com, received the Stevie for best pharmaceutical website/blog. The Stevie Awards were created by the ABA to honor and generate public recognition of the achievements and positive contributions of organizations and business people worldwide.

Acorda was ranked 3rd among all large employers in the 2011 “Best Places to Work in New York” survey, and was the only biotechnology/pharmaceutical company to be included among the best 50 employers statewide. The rankings were based on feedback from employees about workplace culture, benefits, overall job satisfaction and other criteria. The program is a partnership between the New York State Society for Human Resource Management, the Business Council of New York and Best Companies Group, an independent company that manages Best Places to Work programs on state, regional and national levels.

Acorda was ranked 5th among small life sciences companies, and 5th overall among both large and small companies, in the “Best Places to Work in Industry 2011” survey conducted by The Scientist. The Scientist bases its rankings primarily on an online survey of employees in research, development and other science-related fields. Employees are asked to rate their workplace in categories such as research environment, integrity, training and development, and overall job satisfaction.

Acorda’s recently redesigned corporate website, www.acorda.com, was launched in August 2010. The site received the Interactive Media Award (IMA) for Outstanding Achievement. IMA evaluates websites based on five criteria: design, content, feature functionality, usability and standards compliance.
